nöni™ Stainless: Everything You Need to Know

Back

Since our first nöni™ 2.5L saucepan was brought to life over nine years ago, our nöni™ stainless steel range has grown exponentially.

With so many different pans to choose from across our cookware ranges, we thought we'd put the spotlight on nöni™ and what makes it so special, to help you choose the best cookware for you!

What is nöni™ made from?

nöni™ is a genuine world-first: solid, one-piece cookware made from ferritic (highly conductive), non-nickel stainless steel, made in Australia.

Unlike common stainless steel cookware, nöni™ has no clad layers and no synthetic coatings. There are no joins, screws, or rivets, just a single piece of metal built for superior conductivity and generations of use.

Why is non-nickel stainless steel better?

Common stainless steel (18/8 or 18/10) contains nickel, which can leach into food during cooking, a concern particularly for people with nickel sensitivities. Ferritic stainless steel contains little to no nickel, making nöni™ the healthier choice for everyday cooking.

How Does nöni™ Cook?

Because ferritic stainless steel is nearly twice as conductive as common austenitic stainless steels, nöni™ heats up faster and more evenly. This means less energy, less hot spots, and better results. It also means nöni™ is naturally magnetic and works perfectly on induction cooktops.

How do I clean and care for nöni™?

nöni™ needs no seasoning and is dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended for best results.

It's perfect for acidic foods like tomato sauces, citrus, and wine, which would strip the seasoning from iron cookware.

What Can I Cook in nöni™?

nöni™ handles frying, sautéing, boiling, steaming, braising, and baking, and moves seamlessly from stovetop to oven to table.

nöni™ is incredibly versatile. Use it for frying, sautéing, boiling, steaming, braising, baking, and more. It works on all heat sources and transitions seamlessly from stovetop to oven to table. It's particularly well suited to wet and acidic cooking: soups, stocks, curries, pasta, and sauces.

Is nöni™ suitable for induction cooktops?

Yes. Our nöni™ cookware is suitable for ALL heat sources, including induction cooktops. From gas to the oven, from induction to campfire - nöni™ will cook wherever you need it!

FAQ

Is nöni™ cookware safe for people with nickel allergies?
Yes. nöni™ is made from ferritic stainless steel, which contains little to no nickel, unlike common 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel that can leach nickel into food during cooking.

Do I need to season nöni™ pans?
No. nöni™ requires no seasoning at all. It's dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended, and it's ready to cook acidic foods like tomato sauce and citrus straight away.

Can I use nöni™ on an induction cooktop?
Yes. nöni™ is naturally magnetic because it's made from ferritic stainless steel, so it's fully compatible with induction cooktops as well as gas, electric, oven, and campfire cooking.

What's the difference between nöni™ and regular stainless steel cookware?
nöni™ is solid, one-piece ferritic stainless steel with no clad layers, coatings, joins, or rivets, and nearly double the conductivity of common austenitic stainless steel, so it heats faster and more evenly.

What can I cook in nöni™ cookware?
nöni™ suits almost any cooking method — frying, sautéing, boiling, steaming, braising, and baking — and is especially good for wet and acidic dishes like soups, curries, and pasta sauces.
