Our Stainless Steel vs. Traditional Clad Stainless

Back

When it comes to cooking, the tools you use are just as important as the ingredients you choose. In a market flooded with flimsy cladded cookware, synthetic chemicals, and short-lived "non-stick" coatings, nöni™ stainless stands apart.

nöni™ is the world's first and only one-piece, non-nickel ferritic stainless steel cookware: no cladding, no rivets, and no coatings, unlike traditional stainless which is built from multiple bonded metal layers.

Engineered by our founder and mechanical engineer Mark J. Henry, nöni™ was created for those who demand high performance, long-lasting durability, and a healthier way to cook. After years of research and innovation, Mark's patented one-piece design overcomes the limitations of traditional stainless steel. Just pure, uncompromising quality designed to last for generations.

How does nöni™ Beat Traditional Stainless?

Our nöni™ pans are formed from one solid sheet of 3mm ferritic (non-nickel) stainless steel. Ferritic stainless steel is nearly twice as conductive as commonly used 18-10 Austenitic stainless steels (18-10 stainless steel means 18% Chromium and 10% Nickel).

One-Piece, Seamless Construction

No rivets. No welds. No layered metals to fail. Just one solid sheet of highly conductive non-nickel ferritic stainless steel that delivers top results every time. Most other stainless steel pans are made from multiple bonded layers (clad or tri-ply), often with riveted handles that can loosen and trap food over time.

Highly Conductive & Compatible with All Heat Sources

Traditional stainless steel cookware often includes coatings, plastic parts, or layered bases that limit durability and versatility. Most have rivets and components that degrade over time, making them incompatible with high heat and certain cooktops.

nöni™ stainless steel is highly conductive and engineered for freedom allowing you to cook on any heat source. Thanks to its magnetic, ferritic stainless steel construction, our cookware withstands temperatures above 500°F and works seamlessly on all cooktops, including induction, without the need for cladding or layered bases. There's no need to sandwich aluminium or copper layers inside, which means fewer materials, no risk of delamination, and superior performance with less weight that won't degrade over time.

The seamless design and ultra-conductive material ensure faster, even heating without hot spots, delivering exceptional results every time, whether in the kitchen or over a campfire.

No Toxic Coatings

Our cookware is entirely PFAS-free, PTFE-free, and PFOA-free — with zero chemical coatings or synthetic layers to leach, flake, or degrade over time. This is the real deal if you want healthy, non-toxic cookware.

nöni™ is also low-maintenance and perfect for boiling, slow cooking, and acidic cooking while still being conductive enough to sear a steak. It cooks like iron and cleans like stainless! With the right balance of heat and oil, it's naturally non-stick.

Non-Nickel

nöni™ is ideal for those with allergies or sensitivities, or simply seeking a healthier cooking surface for their family. And safe to use with acidic foods such as lemon and tomato, unlike high-nickel stainless steels, which are more prone to leaching nickel under acidic conditions.

Made in Australia & Built to Last

These are not mass-produced, imported pans; they're precision-crafted entirely in-house in Australia to the highest ethical and quality standards.

nöni™ pans are designed to last for generations, not just years. They're crafted to be passed down through generations, not tossed into landfills after a few seasons of wear.

While most stainless steel pans rely on layered (clad/ply) construction to deliver performance, nöni™ pans are a completely different innovation: solid, seamless, and radically more conductive thanks to our unique material and patented manufacturing process, all without the risks of leaching or degrading over time. In comparison, traditional clad stainless is made using multiple materials, making it harder to recycle and far less durable.

Why nöni™ Beats Clad Stainless Steel

nöni™'s one-piece, seamless, non-nickel construction outperforms clad stainless in conductivity, durability, and safety, since it eliminates the bonded layers, rivets, and nickel content that cause clad cookware to degrade, leach, or fail over time.

In a market full of nickel-infested, plastic-coated, short-lived cookware, nöni™ is a true original: the world's first and only seamless, non-nickel stainless steel cookware designed by engineers, not marketers. Whether you choose the stability of our flagship nöni™ or the lightweight convenience of our nöni™ Lightning range, this is the best non-toxic stainless steel cookware to be found in Australia or anywhere around the globe.

Don't accept weak cookware. Choose nöni™, built for generations of healthy, top performance cooking. A long-term investment in health, sustainability, and Aussie innovation.

FAQ

What makes nöni™ different from traditional clad stainless steel cookware? nöni™ is the world's first and only one-piece, non-nickel ferritic stainless steel cookware. Unlike traditional clad stainless, it has no cladding, no rivets, and no coatings — just a single solid sheet of metal.

What is ferritic stainless steel, and how is it different from regular stainless steel? Ferritic stainless steel is a non-nickel stainless steel alloy that's magnetic and nearly twice as conductive as the 18/10 austenitic stainless steel used in most cookware. nöni™ uses ferritic stainless because it heats faster and more evenly, without the nickel content found in traditional stainless.

Does nöni™ cookware contain PFAS, PFOA, or PTFE? No. nöni™ cookware is entirely PFAS-free, PFOA-free, and PTFE-free, with no chemical coatings or synthetic layers of any kind.

Can nöni™ cookware be used on induction cooktops? Yes. nöni™'s magnetic ferritic stainless steel construction makes it fully compatible with induction, gas, electric, and all other cooktops, as well as outdoor heat sources like campfires.

Is nöni™ cookware safe for people with nickel allergies or for cooking acidic foods? Yes to both. nöni™ is made from non-nickel ferritic stainless steel, so it's suitable for people with nickel allergies and safe for acidic ingredients like tomato and lemon — unlike high-nickel stainless steels (such as 18/10), which are more prone to leaching nickel under acidic conditions.

Where is nöni™ cookware made? Every nöni™ pan is 100% made in Australia.
