The Modüla™ Sharpening System from Solidteknics brings together everything needed to keep double-edged kitchen knives sharp at home: three interchangeable diamond sharpener heads and the free-standing Trilobite™ mount that holds them. From regrinding a damaged edge to a quick touch-up before dinner, one system covers the full life of a blade.
Grit describes how coarse or fine a sharpening surface is. Rather than one compromise grit, the system gives you the right head for the condition of the knife:
Most of the time you will reach for the 1000 or 2000 grit head. The 400 grit head is there for the knives that need real work.
The heads are designed to work with the Trilobite™. The mount is free-standing and does not need to be attached to anything, so there are no screws to fit into a board or benchtop and no DIY. Set it on the bench, fit the head you need, sharpen, and swap to the next head if the job calls for it. Everything is ready to use from the moment it arrives.
The heads can also be mounted to the screws on the edge of a Modüla™ bamboo knife board, or to any screw head standing proud of a flat, solid surface, which gives you a second option if you want one.
Each head is a one-piece pass-through sharpener made from spring steel with an industrial diamond coating. Flexible fingers hold the sharpening angle, so there is no guesswork and no balancing a blade against a stone.
Sharpening and honing happen in the one head, and the diamond coating works dry, so there is no oil, no water and no soaking.
The Modüla™ Sharpening System suits cooks who want to look after their own knives properly without learning to use a whetstone. It pairs naturally with the Modüla™ knife range, and it works just as well on other double-edged Western kitchen knives with a plain, non-serrated edge, from chef's knives and santokus to carving and utility knives.
