10L Iron Deepa Pot – AUS-ION™ | Australian-Made Wrought Iron Dutch Oven

The 10L Iron Deepa Pot from the AUS-ION™ range by Solidteknics is a deep, family-scale wrought iron pot manufactured in Sydney, Australia from clean Australian iron. With a generous 10-litre capacity, it's built for stocks, soups, broths, big-batch curries, Dutch oven breads, slow-cooked stews and entertaining-scale cooking. The wrought iron construction is lighter and more responsive than traditional cast iron — easier to lift, faster to heat, and naturally seasoned with a renewable non-stick surface that improves with every cook. Released as a limited AUS-ION™ First Edition, it's a coating-free, PFAS-free iron pot built to deliver multi-generational service.

Material and Construction

The 10L AUS-ION™ Deepa Pot is wrought from a single sheet of clean Australian iron. The iron contains no synthetic coatings — no PTFE, no PFOA, no PFAS — and no aluminium core. Because the pot is wrought in one piece, there are no rivets, screws, welds or joins between the cooking surface and the handles. This seamless one-piece construction removes the common failure points of traditional Dutch ovens and stock pots and leaves a smooth interior with no crevices for food residue or pan juices to trap.

Wrought iron behaves differently to cast iron. The wrought construction is dense, thinner-walled, and more conductive — the pot heats faster, responds faster to burner adjustments, and is significantly lighter to lift than enamelled cast iron Dutch ovens of comparable capacity. There is no risk of chipping or cracking the way enamelled cast iron does on impact.

Natural Seasoning

The 10L AUS-ION™ Deepa Pot is naturally seasoned and develops a renewable non-stick surface that improves with use. Unlike synthetic non-stick coatings that wear out and need replacing, the iron seasoning is rebuildable — if it ever wears down through aggressive scouring, simply re-season and continue cooking.

Heat Source Compatibility

The 10L AUS-ION™ Deepa Pot is fully induction-compatible and performs across every cooktop and heat source, including:

  • Induction cooktops
  • Gas burners
  • Electric coil and radiant ceramic
  • Halogen
  • Domestic and commercial ovens
  • BBQs and grills
  • Wood-fired and gas-fired pizza ovens
  • Open campfires and outdoor flames

Use Cases

The 10L capacity is sized for serious home cooks, large families, batch cookers and entertainers. The Deepa profile gives the depth and volume to handle the kind of cooking a frypan or sauteuse can't:

  • Stocks, broths and bone broth in volume
  • Soups — minestrone, ramen, pho, chowder, big-batch family soup
  • Curries, biryanis and dahls for crowds and weekly meal prep
  • Slow-cooked stews, casseroles and ragùs
  • Pasta sauces and tomato-based slow cooks in bulk
  • Dutch oven breads — sourdough boules with a lid on
  • Whole-cut braises — pot roasts, brisket, osso buco, lamb shoulder
  • Boiling pasta, dumplings and gnocchi for a crowd
  • Preserving — jams, chutneys, relishes and small-batch ferments

The iron surface is excellent for searing and browning before liquid is added — caramelise off the proteins and aromatics in the same vessel you then braise in, building flavour and avoiding a second pan to wash.

Pairs With

The 10L AUS-ION™ Deepa Pot pairs with the AUS-ION™ 35cm Bigga Iron Frypan (sold separately), which shares the same 35cm diameter and doubles as the lid. Together they make a family-scale iron Dutch oven for breads, braises and camp oven cooking. The two pieces are also available together as the AUS-ION™ 10L Iron Dutch Oven.

Care and Cleaning

The 10L AUS-ION™ Deepa Pot requires the standard care routine for naturally seasoned iron cookware: rinse with hot water, scrub with a non-metallic brush if needed, dry thoroughly, and apply a thin layer of cooking oil before storing. Avoid the dishwasher, harsh detergents and prolonged soaking. With consistent use, the seasoning deepens and the non-stick surface improves.

What Differentiates This Iron Deepa Pot

Most large-format pots are either enamelled cast iron (heavy, chips on impact, expensive replacement), thin-gauge stainless with rivets and added nickel, or non-stick coated aluminium that degrades under high-heat braising. The 10L AUS-ION™ Deepa Pot replaces all three with a single sheet of wrought clean Australian iron — lighter than cast, naturally seasoned, induction-ready, BBQ-ready, campfire-ready and backed by a multi-century warranty. It is one of the only seamless, coating-free, wrought iron 10L Dutch oven-format pots manufactured in Australia.
