Solidteknics founder Mark Henry has been making seasoning conditioner bars for years, and reckons he's found the perfect recipe! For those wanting to get a little creative and make your own seasoning bars at home, Mark has kindly shared his recipe with the world!
Remember, you do NOT need a seasoning bar to achieve great seasoning on your AUS-ION™ pans! Rice bran oil, and other high smoke point oils work excellently, as has been done for thousands of years.
Iron Love Bars by Solidteknics
Ingredients
- 70% Beeswax
- 20% Coconut Oil
- 10% Avocado Oil
Quantities are totally up to you, based on what size bar/bars you wish to make!
Method
- Place all oils into a saucepan on a low temperature. Heat slowly and mix until melted and combined.
- Pour into moulds of your choice. Shapes and sizes are limited only by your imagination! (We've seen some amazing lego-shaped seasoning bars.)
- Allow to set. Timing will depend on the size of your bars. If you want to fast-track the setting process, pop them in the fridge.
- Once set, season away as per our AUS-ION™ stovetop seasoning instructions.
