The base that holds it all steady. The Trilobite mount secures your sharpener heads for safe, consistent sharpening.

The Trilobite™ is the mount at the heart of the Modüla™ sharpening system from Solidteknics. Made from aluminium, it is free-standing and holds one Modüla™ diamond sharpener head at a time. It does not need to be attached to anything. Put it on the bench, fit the head you need, and start sharpening.
Modüla™ sharpener heads can be mounted to screws on the edge of a Modüla™ bamboo knife board, or to any screw head standing proud of a flat, solid surface. That works well if you have a board you are happy to put screws into. Many people do not. The Trilobite™ removes that step entirely:
Because it is free-standing, the Trilobite™ goes wherever you prep and packs away when you are done.
The Trilobite™ holds one head at a time, and the heads are interchangeable. Choose the head to suit the condition of the blade:
Each head is a one-piece pass-through sharpener made from spring steel with an industrial diamond coating. Flexible fingers hold the angle, so there is no guesswork. Draw the knife through with a gentle rocking motion rather than dragging it. Firmer pressure deeper in the channel engages the diamonds to sharpen, and lighter strokes at the smooth top section hone the edge.
Because the heads are interchangeable, a single Trilobite™ is all you need whether you own one Modüla™ diamond head or all three. Start with the grit you use most, then add the others when you need them. Every head fits the same mount, so your sharpening setup can grow without buying another base.
This listing is for the Trilobite™ mount only. Diamond sharpener heads are sold separately, or together with the mount as the complete Modüla™ Sharpening System.
The Trilobite™ is made from aluminium. The diamond heads it holds are diamond-coated spring steel.
The Trilobite™ is designed for Modüla™ diamond sharpener heads. Knife compatibility follows the heads:
The Trilobite™ suits anyone who wants the Modüla™ diamond heads without fixing anything to a board or bench: renters, cooks who prefer a clear benchtop, and anyone who wants a sharpening setup that works straight away.
