The AUS-ION™ 22cm Sauteuse is an Australian-made seasoned iron pan with deeper sides than a standard skillet, made in Australia from clean 3mm-thick Aussie iron. That extra depth makes it ideal for one-pan meals — frittatas, scrambled eggs, baking bread and cakes, and small roasts — and it is equally at home deep frying and pan searing, with no rivets, welds or synthetic coatings anywhere on the pan.
Like every AUS-ION™ pan, the 22cm Sauteuse uses a patented seamless, one-piece design: no rivets, no welds, and no toxic or short-lived coatings. The iron body provides excellent heat retention and thermal mass for consistent, even cooking, while the heavily vented ergonomic handle dissipates heat to reduce transfer at the grip during normal stovetop use. The Australia map cut-out in the handle doubles as a hanging point for storage, and a carefully engineered concave in the base allows for metal expansion when the pan is heated.
This iron sauteuse is suitable for induction and all stovetops, BBQs and campfires, plus all non-microwave ovens — even charcoal and pizza ovens. It is designed to fit a standard 600mm domestic oven, so one-pan meals can start on the cooktop and finish under heat in the oven.
