No Spout? No Problem, with Our Pans

Back

How careful engineering has bypassed the need for a pouring spout in our saucepan design...

We get plenty of requests for a saucepan with a spout in the rim, to help with pouring liquids and sauces. Well, there's actually an engineering reason why we haven't introduced a spout in our seamless saucepan designs… they don't need it!

It All Comes Down to the Flange!

The flange, or wide rim, of our nöni™ saucepans is quite a unique design aspect, and not commonly found on most other straight-walled saucepans. This, paired with their tapered Windsor walls, is what allows liquids to naturally come to a controlled, precise point when pouring from our saucepans!

As the rim is flat and follows the circumference of the pan, liquids are naturally pulled towards the centre as they travel along the flat rim. And the best part? The slight overhang of the wide rim means that you can avoid the dreaded drip-down-the-side problem that plagues most saucepans without spouts.

The Windsor Wall Design

Our nöni™ saucepans feature tapered Windsor walls that angle slightly outward from base to rim. This classic French sauce-pan shape isn't just aesthetically pleasing — it's highly functional. The angled walls promote evaporation and reduction in sauces, and when combined with the flanged rim, they create a pour that's naturally directed and controlled.

Together, the flange and Windsor walls work in harmony to give you a precise, drip-free pour — no spout required.

One-Piece, No Compromise

Adding a spout to our saucepans would require an additional join or weld — compromising the seamless, one-piece construction that makes nöni™ so special. Our entire range is made from a single sheet of non-nickel ferritic stainless steel, with no rivets, welds, or joins. A spout would undermine that integrity.

Instead, we've engineered the pour right into the form of the pan itself. That's the Solidteknics way.
