Recipe shared by Sandra, one of our Solid Lovers ❤️ Baked in our AUS-ION™ 30cm BIGGA Skillet. The perfect afternoon tea apple cake!
Ingredients
- 75g butter
- 125g sugar
- Vanilla essence
- 1 egg (or egg replacer equivalent)
- Lemon zest
- Pinch of salt
- 250g self-raising flour
- ¾ cup milk
- 3–4 apples, peeled, cored and scored (for topping)
- Icing sugar mixed with mixed spice and/or cinnamon, to dust
Directions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- With electric beaters or a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add vanilla, egg, lemon zest and salt, and beat until combined.
- Add flour and milk, beat until you have a smooth cake batter.
- Pour into a greased Solidteknics pan of choice.
- Top with apples (peeled, cored, and scored), and bake for 45 minutes.
- Mix icing sugar with mixed spice and/or cinnamon. Serve straight from the pan, or allow to cool, turn out onto a rack, and dust with icing sugar mix.
